TMU Researchers Identify a Marine Bacterial Enzyme That Opens a New Route to Build Bioactive Compound Libraries

A study led by Professor Andrew H.-J. Wang at Taipei Medical University reveals how HapC, an enzyme from the marine bacterium Hahella chejuensis, can synthesize a wider range of prodiginine compounds than previously understood, including two analogs not previously produced by prodigiosin-forming enzymes.
